Release VeryDarkMan Now, Protesters Chant at GTBank Headquarters, Abuja

Abuja, Nigeria – May 5, 2025

Tensions escalated earlier today as a crowd of passionate protesters stormed the GTBank Headquarters in Abuja, demanding the immediate release of social media activist and influencer, *VeryDarkMan*. The peaceful yet vocal protest attracted hundreds of supporters, many holding placards and chanting, "Release VeryDarkMan now!"

The activist, known for his bold takes on corruption, injustice, and societal issues in Nigeria, was reportedly arrested last week under circumstances that remain unclear. Since then, speculation has swirled across social media, with fans and civil rights groups raising concerns about freedom of speech and arbitrary detention.

Protesters gathered as early as 9 a.m. at the bank's premises, drawing attention not only to the arrest but also to what they described as "intimidation tactics against truth speakers." Some wore T-shirts emblazoned with his face, while others distributed flyers calling on the federal government and human rights organizations to intervene.

“We’re not going anywhere until VeryDarkMan is released!” shouted one protester. “His voice speaks for millions of voiceless Nigerians, and silencing him is an attack on all of us.”

GTBank staff temporarily suspended operations at the branch as the protest swelled, though security operatives were seen maintaining order and ensuring the protest remained peaceful.

In the wake of growing public pressure, several influential figures, including celebrities, legal advocates, and political commentators, have also joined the call for transparency and justice.

As of the time of this report, there has been no official statement from the Nigerian Police Force or GTBank regarding the reasons behind VeryDarkMan’s arrest or the timeline for his release.

The protest marks a growing movement across Nigeria advocating for freedom of expression and the protection of online voices that challenge the status quo.
